Yet again another great show at Rickerby’s in Carlisle. Thousands of livestock and arable farmers attending to see the latest technologies to help them improve efficiencies on their farms. This year the mood is relatively upbeat after what was a challenging year for farmers in 2016. In the Abbey Stand there is great interest in the ‘larger kit’. In particular the 2750 Recess Tanker and 3500 Tandem with Self Fill arm. Farmers looking to update their slurry spreading equipment are changing for models 500 gallons more than the currently have to reduce both workload and time in spreading. Wheel choice is a critical component in relation to minimising compaction and making the tanker easier to trail behind the tractor.
From the forage feeding size there’s great interest in twin Auger feeder. One farmer commented that his Abbey Feeder that he just purchased chopped, processed and fed out 15 minutes quicker that other competitor models. Many farmers enquired about precision technologies in relation to simplifying feeding management – the Digi Star TMR Tracker. There was interest in seeing Abbey’s new Tri Auger feeder and farmers were delighted to hear it will be on show at the Highland Show 2017.
