Mark Freud is a butcher and also runs a very impressive beef feedlot for Sam & Sue Edwards near Mossvale in New South Wales. The 350 cattle are put onto an outdoor feedlot area after being out at good pasture to grow frame. They are a mix of Angus, Murray Grays and Charolais cattle.
They are fed a dry mix of chopped straw, ration and wet maize meal every 2 days through and Abbey VF1850. This mix is left in front of the animals’ free access and they are intensively fattened over a 100 day period, with impressive carcase gains – going from the farm to the abattoir.
