Grassland and Muck at Stoneleigh is a showcase of the latest technologies to help milk and meat producers get the very best from there most valuable asset – their land.
Be it the latest in grass breeding, land tilling & cultivation, grass care – its all there. This years show 24/25th May had the added bonus on being held in tropical conditions, with soaring summer temperature and sunshine.
Abbey Machinery were busy throughout the show with farmers coming from right across the UK. Many were keen to see their latest slurry spreading technology. There was great interest in Slurry Applicators. “Of all the shows I”be done, this one had the highest level of interest in the Applicators” remarked Ross Gibbon, Abbey Area Sales Manager, UK South.
“Farmers now see Slurry as a valuable nutrient, containing high levels of N, P and K. When the slurry is applied below the canopy of the crop it retains more of the nitrogen, preventing volatilisation. It shortens rotation length, enhances the crops growth and minimises the smell”, said Michael O’Grady, Sales, Marketing & Business Development Manager.
Abbey Muck Spreaders generated a lot of interest also (AP900 and 2090). Most farmers and contractors want to get jobs done quickly, with machines that require minimal maintenance.
Feeding is becoming an ever more precise science. Abbey Vertical Auger Diet Feeders have the latest Digi-Star weighing technology to record rations, allow easy alterations, measure actual feed to predicted feeding and much more.
Thanks to all those that attended…
