Welsh Farmers Trip

A group of milk and meat producers from South Wales visited the factory. They were impressed with quality of build, attention to detail, variety of machines and overall look of the new factory. The group was organised by Mid-Way Motors Coaches and they then went to the McHale plant in Mayo.

Winter Fair

We are delighted to be exhibiting this year at one of the top meeting places for the dairy industry in Ireland, where top class cattle compete for the title of Supreme Champion and trade stands display innovation and industry advances.Visitors will see the highest quality of dairy cattle as well as finding out what the industry has to currently offer. The event also provides an excellent vehicle for exhibitors to market their products and services to the dairy farming industry.

Christmas Opening Hours

It’s been another wonderfully busy year here at Abbey Machinery and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support throughout the year.

Our factory will be closed from Friday, 22nd December to Monday, 8th of January  with our offices re-opening on Tuesday, 2nd of January. 

Feed Management This Winter

Key areas include:

  1. Carry out a feed budget and assess your feed and forage stocks.
  2. Analyse your forages.
  3. Set performance targets for stock and monitor performance.
  4. When feeding follow the correct loading order and mixing time. 
  5. Monitor animal health signals.
  6. Condition score stock and batch accordingly.
  7. Monitor Straw value.
  8. Ensure housing is well ventilated.
  9. Work, Fluor and Luce control pays dividend.

NEW DM Band Spreader

This is a class leading, 7.5 metre Door Mounted Band Spreader that can be retro-fitted to the rear door of a Slurry Tanker. There are additional support brackets and a welded bracket on the dish end for improved working life. It is mounted close to the slurry tanker for optimum weight transfer to the hitch. New to Abbey

Andy Mair recently joined the Abbey Machinery team as Territory Manager for the UK North and David O’Malley also joined as Territory Manager for Ireland North. They are working closely with our Dealer partners to grow the business.

Abbey are proud to enter the Polish Market, having appointed Karol Mirota as Agent for the Market. Karol speaks four different languages and has extensive knowledge of the farming and machinery sector in Ireland, Poland and Russia.
